The following excerpt from Jim Thompson’s book The High School Sports Parent applies to Elementary children through high school.

Concussion Sports Come Together to Spread Concussion Awareness
US Lacrosse, along with 13 other national governing bodies, the NFL, CDC and NFL Players Association, have teamed up to present a poster educating young athletes about concussions.

This poster was designed to help increase awareness among young athletes about the seriousness concerning concussions and emphasizes the importance of reporting any head injury. It also provides athletes with a list of concussion signs, symptoms and steps they should take if they think they have a concussion. Additionally, the poster has been endorsed by the American College of Emergency Physicians and the American Association of Neurological Surgeons. Steve Stenerson Blog Photo KIDS SAY THE DARNDEST THINGS

Now that the school year is back in full swing, the chaos has returned to the Stenersen household. The challenge of balancing the demands of two careers while coordinating the kids’ schedules gets more daunting every year.
